A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO ENDINGS
Wed 10th August | 6:30pm | Dendy Opera Quays

Dir: Jonathan Sobol, Canada, 2010, 93 min | Cast: Harvey Keitel, Scott Caan, Tricia Helfer
An unabashedly enjoyable yarn about getting the most out of life, whatever the odds.
Three adult brothers (Scott Caan, Jason Jones and Paulo Constanzo) travel to their home town of Niagara Falls following the death of their gambler dad Duke (Harvey Keitel). They learn not just of their inheritance, but of their irresponsible father’s dodgy legacy. Each brother responds to these revelations in drastic, life-altering ways. The first goes after the hot chick that got away, the second steps into the boxing ring, the third goes through his bucket list of daredevil stunts.
Jonathan Sobol’s feature debut is a fast-paced, unashamedly entertaining romp filled with crackling dialogue, arresting action sequences and a soundtrack to make Tarantino curse with envy. The well-observed family dynamic and charismatic performances makes for a rambunctious, darkly comic take on masculinity and the wicked complexity of father & son relationships.
