A timely look at the situation in war-torn Afghanistan through a series of probing portraits

Six years into the formidable task of rebuilding Afghanistan, it is timely to examine the difference that is being made in the lives of Afghans. This ground breaking documentary looks at the lives of ordinary Afghan citizens. More than a billion dollars in Canadian aid has been committed to Afghanistan since the fall of the Taliban regime, and more than 95 Canadian soldiers have sacrificed their lives in the campaign.

In order to gain unique access for this Canadian Broadcast Corporation documentary film, local journalists and camera crew are hired to reach Afghans living in remote and dangerous areas. Through a series of intensely personal stories the film gauges the progress being made in Afghanistan and the daunting challenges that remain in this war-torn country.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation director and producer Andrea Thiel
