Last year we welcomed a very special guest to Sydney for Possible Worlds, Sydney's 5th Canadian Film Festival: senior producer Gerry Flahive, from Canada's National Film Board. Gerry presented a masterclass on transmedia story-telling and gave us the first ever glimpse of the interactive documentary HIGHRISE / OUT MY WINDOW. Since then OUT MY WINDOW has gone on to win many awards, quickly gaining recognition as a benchmark in transmedia storytelling.

Last night, we received an elated email from Gerry, with two great pieces of news: following Gerry's meetings with broadcasters while in Sydney, OUT MY WINDOW has been bought by SBS for Australia, and it has just won a digital EMMY for non-fiction!

“To be honoured with such a prestigious award for our efforts in pushing the boundaries of documentary storytelling, reminds us of the decades of innovation by our predecessors at the National Film Board, where creativity, social impact and the incorporation of new technology have always been at the forefront of what we do,” said Gerry.
