It ain't Hollywood!

Possible Worlds

Hockey is Canada's favourite pastime. We know that. We're cool with that. Sure sometimes we'd like to believe it's cinema, but rather than kid ourselves, we thought we'd acknowledge the power of the greatest game in the land.

So not only will the 6th Canadian Film Festival open with a hockey musical, it will sport a puck and a stick on its poster. We resisted the temptation to use a film cannister as a hockey puck (*eye roll*), but did make reference to the dream factory that is Hollywood.

We don't mind the occasional blockbuster once in a while, but there's more to cinema (and life) than trucks that turn into robots and patriotic superheroes.

The 20 new films we're bringing to Australia are proudly, uniquely Canadian - yet they speak to us all. They're less interested in formulas, or seeking out a common denominator, than in telling personal stories with passion and craft.

We teamed up with the talented designers at Carnival Studio to design the poster (here it is in high res). We hope you like it as much as we do.
