HOW TO... GET A FREE DRINK AT THE FESTIVAL

Did someone say free drinks?

Putting the festive back into festival, Possible Worlds is not just a place to watch new films, it's a place to meet other film lovers, visiting filmmakers and festival programmers, a place to mingle and chat about the movies you saw... over a drink or two.

Quite a few of our screenings will include a free drink, including in some cases a delicious St Ambroise Pale Ale, courtesy of our Official Beer Partner, Canada's best micro-brewery.

Grab your tickets to ROLLER TOWN or LEAVE IT ON THE FLOOR for screening parties with two free drinks, food and live shows by burlesque, boylesque and drag performers (and DJs playing late).

Or if you fancy quaffing a glass of free wine or beer before your film, make sure you score tickets to:

Opening Night Quebecois comedy STARBUCK (reception from 5:30pm Monday 13 August).

Fascinating eco-doco SURVIVING PROGRESS, in association with GoGet Carshare (6pm drinks on Wednesday 15 August).

Bone-splittingly hilarious hockey comedy GOON, in association with Velocity Trade (8pm drinks, Thursday 16 August).

INDIE GAME: THE MOVIE, the doco that makes video game coders more interesting than you can possibly imagine (drinks and video games in the lobby after the film, 6:30pm Friday 17 August).

Rousing documentary UNITED STATES OF AFRICA: BEYOND HIP-HOP, melding revolutionary politics and hip hop (with live dance/hip hop performances before the screening, drinks from 6pm Saturday 18 August).

Moving Quebecois family drama WETLANDS (MARECAGES), in association with the Quebec Oz Club (6pm drinks, Saturday 18 August).

And our Closing Night film WAR WITCH, which won awards at the Berlin and Tribeca film festivals (drinks from 7:30pm Sunday 19 August at the Possible Worlds Awards Ceremony, Sir Stamford at Circular Quay Hotel).
