CANADIAN DOWN UNDER PROJECT

We asked Canadians about what they think about Australia, and this is what they sent us!

In the month leading up to the festival, dozens of Canadians on working holidays in Australia submitted video of their adventures.

In the lineup of submissions we glimpsed Uluru and Camel rides in the Red Centre, Cool bars and Cafes in Sydney and Brisbane, snorkelers at the Great Barrier Reef and Kangaroo Island, hikers in the Hunter Valley, Canadian fans at a Swans v Hawthorn Aussie Rules football game, a working traveler on rural work duty in Western New South Wales, the twelve apostles off the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, and 360 selfies from students and workers all across Australia.

We even got an entry from Greg Snell, the Canadian winner of Tourism Australia’s “Best Jobs in The World” contest, who spent a year as a wildlife-carer in South Australia, and sent us shots of a few of his favorite critters (echidna!)

Thank you for everyone who have participate in this project!

The clip will be played on the big screen before every screening at the Possible Worlds Film Festival this year and we are proud to see the result.

The project was produced by Bienvenue! Canada Down Under, the media initiative of Consulate General of Canada, Sydney, and International Experience Abroad. The campaign was directed by Larin Sullivan and edited by Aimee Kubo, and features music by Australian / Canadian singer-songwriter duo Dylan Wright and Andy Brown, courtesy of Source Music.
