The Australian Museum presents an insightful look at life, nature and art in the Canadian Arctic

The Nunavut community of Cape Dorset is renowned for the art produced at the Inuit-owned and operated Kinngait Studios (formerly the West Baffin Eskimo Co-operative). Set in the Canadian Arctic, this is an intimate documentary account of how this isolated Inuit community became the internationally celebrated art capital of the North, emerging from the most unlikely circumstances to capture the imagination of people around the world.

With a keen understanding of how the art reflects the intense environmental and cultural changes the Inuit have experienced over the past 50 years, this fascinating film takes us where few ever go. Kinngait is a rare and beautiful journey that will handsomely reward art lovers and those curious about indigenous cultures.
