It’s the archetypal band story: childhood friends Vic & Kat start an all-girl rock band (think Joan Jett meets Patti Smith), hit the big time, implode on tour under the weight of drugs, booze & egos. Now it's 10 years later and a record label is throwing them a tribute concert. Vic and Kat meet up. Both want to make amends, but it’s a tense reunion.Over the course of one night, the true nature of their bond is revealed.

Two of Canada's finest actresses Molly Parker (Deadwood) and the late Tracy Wright (Me You & Everyone We Know) light up the screen in this nocturnal love letter to Toronto’s music scene. Well served by Daniel MacIvor’s witty, read-between-the-lines screenplay and a great score by Broken Social Scene’s Brendan Canning, Trigger is an indie gem.
